USA TODAY has launched USA TODAY Studio IX, a new women's sports vertical presented by Cisco, to provide in-depth and unique storytelling, dynamic events, and expanded multimedia content highlighting the power of women's sports. The community leverages the USA TODAY Network's reach, including USA TODAY and over 200 local publications nationwide. The initiative aims to meet the growing reader interest in women's sports coverage, featuring prominent athletes like Simone Biles and emerging talents, while going beyond surface-level reporting.
The launch of Studio IX coincides with the 2025 WNBA draft, where USA TODAY will cover the event extensively. To celebrate the launch, an invite-only WNBA draft watch party will be hosted in partnership with the New York Liberty, sponsored by Cisco and Taboola. Beyond being a digital hub, Studio IX intends to make a lasting impact on women's sports through increased coverage, community events, and thought leadership. The USA TODAY High School Sports Awards will introduce the Studio IX Trailblazer Award to honor individuals who have paved the way for women and girls in sports. Led by USA TODAY senior editor Alicia Del Gallo, the initiative seeks to make leading coverage of women's sports more accessible to readers, reflecting the ongoing innovation in sports journalism.
