The 2025 Sarasota Herald-Tribune All-Area Girls Weightlifting Team, consisting of 12 athletes, has been announced for the Sarasota-Manatee High School Sports Awards presented by Sarasota Ford. The winner of the Herald-Tribune Girls Weightlifter of the Year will be revealed at a live show on May 30 at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. The event will also honor other All-Area athletes in various sports and announce the finalists and winners of the Sarasota-Manatee Player of the Year awards.
The nominees for the Girls Weightlifter of the Year include athletes from different high schools like Saint Stephen’s Episcopal, Lakewood Ranch, and Manatee, among others. The Sarasota-Manatee Sports Awards Show is part of the USA TODAY High School Sports Awards program, with complimentary tickets provided to nominated athletes who RSVP. Voting for the Girls Weightlifter of the Year can be done through a poll, which closes on April 21, with live coverage of the awards show available on May 30.
