Watertown High School's boys' tennis team achieved a 7-2 victory over Sioux Falls Jefferson at the Highland Park tennis courts, improving their season record to 3-2. The girls' softball team, with a 1-2 season record, secured a 5-4 win against Pierre at the PREMIER Softball Complex due to a four-run fifth inning.
The tennis team is now embarking on a series of 12 consecutive road duals after their successful home debut. Meanwhile, the softball team is scheduled to play against Aberdeen following their recent victories. Coaches Ryan Zink and Kelli Brinka expressed satisfaction with their teams' performances, noting areas for improvement in both singles and doubles play. Despite early season losses, the teams are optimistic about the future and look forward to further development throughout the season.
