Nashville SC is set to host Chattanooga Red Wolves SC in the U.S. Open Cup round of 32 at Geodis Park on May 6. The Red Wolves, who compete in USL League One, have secured victories in the tournament by overcoming New Jersey Alliance FC, Chattanooga FC, and Las Vegas Lights FC through penalty shootouts, making them one of the four remaining teams from outside the top two tiers.
In the draw that occurred on April 17, it was revealed that Nashville and the Red Wolves will clash for the first time. The U.S. Open Cup, a prestigious knockout tournament involving 96 teams, features MLS, USL, semi-professional, and amateur clubs. Nashville SC, an MLS team, has previous Open Cup experiences, reaching the quarterfinals in 2022 and the round of 16 in 2023. Their upcoming match against the Red Wolves will be their first midweek game of the 2025 season, situated between fixtures against Atlanta United and Charlotte FC. Nashville currently holds a 4-3-1 record in MLS play, placing them sixth in the Eastern Conference.
