Conor Hourihane has been named the permanent head coach of League One club Barnsley, expressing his emotions over the appointment. The 34-year-old took on the role on an interim basis following the sacking of Darrell Clarke after a string of poor results that saw the team drop out of the play-off places. Hourihane, who previously served as the assistant coach and a former captain of Barnsley, signed a two-year contract with the option for an additional year.
