BYU gymnast Brynlee Andersen competed as an individual in the NCAA women's gymnastics championships semifinals, scoring 9.8250 on beam to finish tied for No. 38 overall. Despite not winning an individual national championship, Andersen showcased her skills at the highest college gymnastics level, marking a memorable experience for the sophomore.
Andersen expressed gratitude for the opportunity and the support from her coaches, family, and friends. She faced tough competition, including following the national beam champion, Helen Hu, and dealt with balance check deductions. Looking ahead, Andersen aims to return to nationals and achieve All-American status, building on her place in BYU gymnastics' history as one of only 11 Cougars to compete at the NCAA championships.
