Julia Lopez Ramirez, a rookie on the LPGA tour known for her impressive driving distance, recently experienced a setback in her performance after undergoing an emergency appendectomy. Prior to the surgery, Lopez Ramirez led the tour in driving distance with an average of 287.25 yards. Following the procedure, she noted a decrease in her driving distance by around 10 to 15 yards due to the recovery process and inability to work out.
Despite the challenges posed by her health issues, Lopez Ramirez showed resilience by returning to competition shortly after the surgery. She made her fourth start of the season at the JM Eagle LA Championship, where she displayed solid performance with a 4-under 68 in the opening round. The Spaniard, a former two-time SEC champion and top-ranked amateur golfer, remains determined to overcome the obstacles and regain her form on the tour.
