Florida A&M's golf team secured its first-ever Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship in Birmingham on April 16 by finishing six strokes ahead of Arkansas-Pine Bluff with a final round score of 292 (+4) at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley. Sascha Robinson, a freshman golfer, led the Rattlers to victory, earning Low Medalist and Freshman Low Medalist honors alongside teammates Miguel Illas and Jonathan Scott, who also made the All-SWAC First Team. Head coach Mike Rice was honored as the SWAC's Coach of the Year.
The Rattlers previously won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship in 2021 before transitioning to the SWAC, and their recent victory follows their win at the PGA Works HBCU National Championship. Their success has earned them a spot in the upcoming NCAA Tournament set to begin in May.
