Dakota Wesleyan University's freshman golfer Dakota Munger was recognized as the Great Plains Conference men's golfer of the week after securing his first collegiate victory at the DWU Spring Invitational held at Lakeview Golf Course. Munger clinched the title with a two-day gross score of 140, shooting 2-under-69 and par-71 on consecutive days to lead the field of 48 golfers from seven teams. With an adjusted scoring average of 77.8 over 22 rounds this season, Munger demonstrated his prowess on the course.
In addition to his golfing achievements, Munger also contributes to the Dakota Wesleyan baseball team as a pitcher. Having started nine games and pitched 51 2/3 innings with a 1-5 record and a 5.05 earned-run average, he has recorded 34 strikeouts this season. The DWU men's golf team is set to compete at the GPAC Championships on April 21, while the baseball team is scheduled to play against Briar Cliff on April 17.
