Notre Dame football has seen two specialists, long snapper Rino Monteforte and kicker Zac Yoakam, enter the transfer portal. Monteforte, who has already graduated, leaves as the Irish's former starter and will have two more years to play in college. Meanwhile, Yoakam, a graduate transfer, had limited success with two out of five field goal attempts but was perfect on all 18 extra points.
The departures of Monteforte and Yoakam may pose minor challenges for Notre Dame's special teams, but replacements are expected to be readily available. Special teams coach Marty Biagi's expertise and the appeal of playing for the Irish are likely to attract new players to fill these positions.
