Taylor Fires Back at Stanford Probe - Unveils Surprising Details

By Scores.wiki Staff · March 25, 2026 at 09:37 PM ET

Former Stanford head football coach Troy Taylor disputed the findings of two workplace investigations conducted during his tenure, stating he was not fired for cause and criticizing the media coverage of his termination. The investigations, initiated due to workplace behavior complaints, revealed multiple allegations of belittling and inappropriate behavior toward women, although Taylor denied any wrongdoing.

ESPN reported that the first investigation, which began with a gender bias complaint, expanded to include multiple allegations against Taylor involving at least 20 Stanford athletic department staff members. While the investigator found insufficient evidence for the original complaint, three other allegations of inappropriate conduct by Taylor were substantiated.

Taylor signed a warning letter in February 2024 after the first investigation, acknowledging potential consequences if the behavior persisted. A subsequent investigation in mid-2024 highlighted a continued pattern of concerning behavior by Taylor, including aggressive treatment of the compliance officer and retaliation against her for flagging NCAA rules violations. The investigations led to Taylor's dismissal in March, with Stanford's general manager Andrew Luck emphasizing the need for program changes following the revelations.
