Oklahoma football has secured the commitment of former California running back Jaydn Ott as the spring transfer window for college football approaches. Ott, ranked as the No. 3 running back in the transfer portal by 247Sports, joins the Sooners' roster following his abrupt entry into the transfer portal just one day before the window's opening.
Ott, a Chino, California native, brings with him experience from a limited junior campaign at Cal, where he battled injuries but still managed to contribute 385 rushing yards and four touchdowns in 10 games. Over his three seasons in the Pac-12 and ACC, Ott totaled 2,586 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns, with his standout performance in his sophomore year recording 1,305 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.
The addition of Ott bolsters the Sooners' offensive lineup under new offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle, enhancing a running back group that includes talents like Jovantae Barnes, Xavier Robinson, Gavin Sawchuk, and Taylor Tatum. Oklahoma also welcomed former Stanford offensive lineman Jake Maikkula alongside Ott as they gear up for the upcoming season.
