Shocking NFL Move: New York Giants Cut Defensive Lineman Ross Blacklock After Rapid Career Journey!

By Scores.wiki Staff · March 25, 2026 at 09:37 PM ET

The New York Giants have terminated the contract of defensive lineman Ross Blacklock. Originally a second-round pick by the Houston Texans in the 2020 NFL draft, Blacklock had brief stints with multiple teams including the Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, and Tennessee Titans before joining the Giants last season. Throughout his 44-game career, the 26-year-old has accumulated 40 tackles, one forced fumble, two passes defensed, nine QB hits, and 3.0 sacks. Despite being signed to the Giants' practice squad in December and later to a reserve/futures contract in January, Blacklock did not see any game action during his time with the team. Notably, he is the son of Harlem Globetrotters member Jimmy Blacklock.
