The Green Bay Packers have re-signed tight end John FitzPatrick, who joined the team last season after being signed off the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad. FitzPatrick, 25, played in nine regular season games and was part of the team's playoff roster.
As a restricted free agent, FitzPatrick did not receive a tender, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent. The Packers have brought him back to compete for a spot on the 53-man roster at tight end, where he will vie with Ben Sims for the third tight end position behind Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave.
FitzPatrick's role last season included primarily serving as a run blocker, with limited offensive production. He played a total of 73 offensive snaps and 50 special teams snaps over nine games. Drafted by the Falcons in the sixth round of the 2022 draft, FitzPatrick has accumulated 91 offensive snaps and 133 special teams snaps in his NFL career. The Packers currently have two unsigned players: offensive tackle Andre Dillard and tight end Tyler Davis.
