Former Michigan cornerback Will Johnson participated in an NFL workout on Monday in Ann Arbor but opted out of running the 40-yard dash due to a hamstring injury that had also sidelined him during Michigan’s Pro Day and a significant portion of the 2024 season. Despite missing this traditional drill, Johnson showcased a 37" vertical leap and completed the short shuttle run in 4.33 seconds, in addition to engaging in positional drills as reported by Dane Brugler of TheAthletic.com.
Having established himself as a key player for the Wolverines since his freshman year in 2022, Johnson’s on-field performance was well-documented as he earned MVP honors during the national title game in his sophomore season. Despite injury setbacks in 2024, Johnson managed to make an impact with two interception returns for touchdowns. While NFL teams did not witness his 40-yard dash, they had ample opportunity to evaluate his skills and contributions during his tenure at Michigan.
