Joao Felix is reportedly eager to make a return to his former club Benfica this summer, possibly on a loan move. The 25-year-old had joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid for £45m last year on a seven-year contract. However, Felix struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup at Chelsea, leading to a loan move to AC Milan in January.
Though Felix initially found success at Milan, his form has dipped since then, and the Italian club is not looking to make his move permanent. Consequently, the Portuguese player is now eyeing a return to Benfica, with talks suggesting a potential loan deal where Chelsea would contribute towards his salary. It is unlikely that Felix will feature for Chelsea again, with Benfica also interested in having him in their squad for the upcoming Club World Cup. Chelsea's acquisition of Felix has not yielded the expected results, posing a financial challenge for the club moving forward.
