Missouri secured the commitment of Iowa transfer tight end Gavin Hoffman, marking the program's first addition during the spring portal session. Hoffman, a 6-foot-5, 237-pound redshirt freshman, was a three-star recruit from Overland Park, Kansas. Despite not seeing playing time at Iowa, he chose Missouri after receiving offers from various SEC and Power 4 schools.
Hoffman, who hails from Blue Valley Southwest, is the cousin of former Missouri basketball player Sophie Cunningham. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz and tight ends coach Derham Cato played pivotal roles in convincing him to join the Tigers. He adds depth to a tight end group that includes players like Brett Norfleet, Jordon Harris, Jude James, and Vince Brown II, with Hoffman bringing four years of eligibility to the team.
