Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders will have their Colorado jerseys retired during the spring game festivities on Saturday, as announced by the school. Hunter, who wore No. 12, achieved significant accolades, including winning the Heisman Trophy and being named the national player of the year, excelling as both a receiver and cornerback. He amassed impressive stats in his Colorado career, with 153 catches for 1,989 yards and 21 touchdowns, along with notable defensive contributions.
Sanders, son of coach Deion Sanders, set numerous school records during his time at Colorado, including career passing touchdowns, passer rating, and completion percentage. Over two seasons, he threw for 7,364 yards, 64 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions wearing the No. 2 jersey. Both Hunter and Sanders are projected to be first-round picks in the upcoming NFL Draft starting on April 24.
The retirement of their jerseys adds to the four numbers previously retired in Colorado's football history, honoring notable players such as Byron White, Joe Romig, Bobby Anderson, and Rashaan Salaam.
