Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Marques Easley, a redshirt sophomore and former four-star recruit, becomes the third player from the team to enter the NCAA transfer portal this offseason. Easley, standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 325 pounds, played in two games during the 2024 college football season. However, he faced legal issues in March after being arrested for reckless driving and three counts of reckless conduct following an incident where he crashed into an apartment complex in Athens.
In response to Easley's arrest, the University of Georgia suspended both Easley and wide receiver Nitro Tuggle, who was involved in a separate driving incident. Their absence was notable during Georgia's spring game, leading both players to enter the transfer portal. Head coach Smart expressed disappointment in the players' decisions, emphasizing their youth and significant errors in judgment. Easley's departure adds to a growing list of Bulldog players entering the transfer portal this spring, including Tuggle and running back Branson Robinson since the window opened on April 16.
