UCLA will begin its 2025 football season on Aug. 30 against Utah at the Rose Bowl, with Nico Iamaleava taking on the quarterback role after transferring from Tennessee. The 6-foot-6, 220-pound redshirt sophomore entered the NCAA transfer portal on the spring window's opening day. Tino Sunseri, who previously worked as a quality control assistant for Tennessee in 2018 under Jeremy Pruitt, now assumes the positions of offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at UCLA for the upcoming season.
Having a background as a graduate assistant at Alabama, quarterbacks coach at James Madison, and co-offensive coordinator at Indiana, Sunseri brings a wealth of experience to the Bruins. He notably won a national championship with Alabama in 2020 and participated in the College Football Playoff with Indiana last season. Sunseri's football career includes playing as a quarterback at Pittsburgh from 2008 to 2012, while his father, Sal Sunseri, previously held the role of Tennessee's defensive coordinator in 2012 under head coach Derek Dooley.
