Following a coaching change at Bowling Green State University, J.T. Kitna, son of former Bengals quarterback Jon Kitna, has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Kitna, a Lakota East graduate, enrolled at Bowling Green in January under former head coach Scot Loeffler, who recently joined the Philadelphia Eagles as quarterbacks coach. Kitna, a 6’2.5, 225-pound early enrollee freshman, had initially committed to the University of Alabama at Birmingham but switched to Bowling Green on signing day.
Bowling Green welcomed Ohio State legend Eddie George as their new head coach, succeeding Loeffler. Kitna, a highly-regarded prospect, garnered accolades during his high school career, earning All-Greater Miami Conference honors in 2023 and 2024. He also received third-team All-Ohio recognition for his impressive senior season performance, throwing for 2,711 yards, 27 touchdowns, and rushing for 203 yards and four scores. With four years of eligibility remaining, Kitna received an offer from Houston Christian after entering the transfer portal. Under the guidance of his father, Jon Kitna, who serves as the head coach at Lakota East, Kitna has shown promising talent on the field.
