Former Cal running back Jaydn Ott has transferred to Oklahoma, joining the Sooners' backfield for his final season of eligibility. Ott, a standout playmaker, has accumulated 3,460 all-purpose yards over the past three seasons, ranking third among returning FBS running backs. He was a first-team All-Pac-12 performer in 2023.
Ott's move to Oklahoma coincides with Washington State quarterback transfer John Mateer also joining the team. Mateer threw for 3,139 yards and 29 touchdowns last season. In addition, former Stanford offensive lineman Jake Maikkula, who started 11 games last season, is signing with the Sooners as well, bringing two seasons of eligibility.
As a graduate transfer, Ott's decision comes during the spring transfer window, which runs from Wednesday to April 25. ESPN's Max Olson contributed to the report on Ott's transfer to Oklahoma.
