Wisconsin receivers Quincy Burroughs and Mark Hamper have both declared their intention to enter the transfer portal, as announced on Tuesday evening. Burroughs, a redshirt junior, played 22 games for Wisconsin and caught five passes for 43 yards. He had previously played under Luke Fickell at Cincinnati before transferring to Wisconsin. On the other hand, Hamper, a redshirt sophomore, committed to Wisconsin in December after a successful season at Idaho where he caught 49 passes for 961 yards and six touchdowns, earning him recognition as a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award.
Both players cited the need for a fresh start and growth as athletes and individuals as reasons for their departures from the Badgers program. Burroughs and Hamper are part of a growing number of players utilizing the transfer portal to explore new opportunities and find environments that align better with their goals and values.
