Guirassy, the top scorer in the tournament with 13 goals, opened the scoring with a chipped penalty in the 11th minute and added two more goals as Dortmund attempted to recover from a 4-0 first-leg defeat. Barcelona's nerves were settled by Ramy Bensebaini's own goal in the 54th minute, ending Dortmund's hopes of overturning a four-goal deficit. Despite Guirassy's third goal in the 76th minute, Dortmund fell short of the two additional goals needed to force extra time.
Barcelona will now await the winner of the match between Inter Milan and Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
