Longtime ESPN college football analyst Lee Corso is retiring after 38 seasons with the network. ESPN announced that the Week 1 edition of "College GameDay" will be Corso's last. Corso expressed gratitude to ESPN, his colleagues, and the fans for the support throughout his career. The 89-year-old former coach joined ESPN in 1987 and has been a key figure in the show since it began traveling to different campuses in 1993.

Corso, known for his iconic headgear predictions and elaborate end-of-show picks, has faced health challenges in recent years following a stroke in 2009. Despite health issues, he maintained a reduced role on the show and shared a close bond with co-worker Kirk Herbstreit. ESPN is planning a tribute to Corso's career for his final show, which is anticipated to be held in Tallahassee where Corso's college football journey started. Herbstreit praised Corso's influence and mentorship, acknowledging his impact on the broadcasting industry.
