West Virginia's JJ Quinerly was chosen by the Dallas Wings as the second pick in the third round of the 2025 WNBA Draft, marking her transition to the professional basketball realm. During her time at West Virginia University, Quinerly established herself as one of the top performers in the history of the WVU women's basketball program. She became the seventh player in West Virginia's basketball history, across both men's and women's teams, to exceed 2,000 career points. Quinerly was also recognized twice as the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.

Throughout her four-year career at West Virginia, Quinerly participated in 126 games, with 108 starts, and accumulated notable statistics, including 328 steals, 341 assists, 410 rebounds, and 2,016 points. She showcased her scoring prowess by reaching the 20-point mark in 16 games during the season and surpassing 30 points on three occasions. Despite experiencing coaching changes during her time at WVU, Quinerly's contributions were instrumental in the team's success, as she now transitions to the Dallas Wings, following a challenging 2024 WNBA season where the team finished with a 9-31 record.
