Valkyries Make History Selecting Lithuanian Guard Juste Jocyte in First-Ever WNBA Draft Pick

The Golden State Valkyries made Lithuanian guard Juste Jocyte their first-ever draft pick in franchise history, selecting her with the 5th pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. Jocyte, a 6-foot-2 guard who has played professionally in Europe since 2019, brings elite vision and big-game poise to the team. She has represented Lithuania internationally since the age of 13 and played for Lyon ASVEL in the La Boulangere Wonderligue.

Jocyte, who was chosen just after UConn's Paige Bueckers went first overall to the Dallas Stars, joins the Valkyries as they continue to build their roster. The team will have the 17th overall pick in the second round of the draft, aiming to strengthen their lineup further. This marks a significant moment for the Valkyries as they expand their presence in the WNBA and add a talented international player to their squad.
