The University of North Florida men's basketball team has lost its leading scorer and third starter from the 2024-25 season, as Jasai Miles, a 6-foot-6 sophomore, transferred to Indiana. This marks the second consecutive year that the Ospreys' top scorer has moved on to a Power Four conference, following Chaz Lanier's departure to Tennessee in the previous season.
In addition to Miles, UNF has also lost two other starters: point guard Jaylen Smith to East Tennessee and forward Liam Murphy to Purdue. Freshman forward Josh Harris and senior guard Ametri Moss are also expected to leave the team. Jacksonville University faced a similar setback as their top scorer, guard Robert McCray V, transferred to Florida State. These departures signal significant rebuilding challenges for UNF's Matthew Driscoll and JU's Jordan Mincy for the upcoming season, with limited returning experienced players for both teams.
