UCF basketball's 7-foot-2 freshman center Moustapha Thiam has entered the transfer portal after a promising debut season where he started 34 games, averaging 10.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks. Thiam, originally from Senegal, was the highest-rated signee in UCF history and reclassified to join the team a year early, making an impact particularly on defense with his impressive shot-blocking abilities.
Despite his raw offensive skills at the start of the season, Thiam steadily improved, finishing with a team-best shooting percentage of 49.8%. In the College Basketball Crown finals, he contributed nine points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks. Thiam's departure adds to the list of UCF players entering the transfer portal, with a total of 11 players exploring new opportunities, while the team has made six new additions to the roster to compensate for the departures.
