The University of Utah men's basketball team secured a commitment from 3-star small forward Kendyl Sanders for the 2025 class. Sanders, a 6-foot-6 player from St. Bernard High in California, previously attended the IMG Academy post-grad program in Florida, where he averaged 14.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. He is ranked as the No. 59 small forward in his class by 247 Sports and had offers from several other schools, including San Francisco and UC Irvine.
Sanders, whose father played at USC, was coached by Tony Bland at St. Bernard. The Runnin' Utes, who have undergone coaching changes and roster turnover, have nine scholarship spots to fill. Forward Keanu Dawes is the only returning key player from last season, and the team has added transfers Terrence Brown and James Okonkwo, along with the return of Ibi Traore. Guard Alvin Jackson, a recruit from Salt Lake Community College, was also signed in the 2025 class.
