Oklahoma set to add Xzayvier Brown through transfer portal

Former St. Joseph's guard Xzayvier Brown is set to transfer to Oklahoma, as reported by CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein. Brown, who received first-team All-Atlantic-10 honors, averaged 17.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists last season.

Oklahoma’s acquisition of Brown was facilitated by the hiring of St. Joseph's assistant coach Justin Scott, Brown's step-father, by Sooners head coach Porter Moser. This move came after the departure of guard Jeremiah Fears to the NBA Draft and guard Duke Miles entering the transfer portal.

The addition of Brown adds to Oklahoma's successful recruitment from the transfer portal, with the team also securing former Miami guard Nijel Pack and former Notre Dame forward Tae Davis. Brown, who contributed to consecutive NIT appearances with St. Joe's, brings a strong track record, including being named A-10 Freshman of the Year two seasons ago.
