Luka Dončić of the Los Angeles Lakers has broken a long-standing trend by becoming the first international player to hold the NBA's highest-selling jersey for the 2024-2025 season. The NBA announced this milestone on Monday, attributing Dončić's jersey popularity to his recent trade to the Lakers in February, with sales on NBAStore.com throughout the regular season determining the top-selling status.
Dončić's rise to the top spot ended an 11-year reign of either Stephen Curry or LeBron James as the league's most-sold jersey holders. While Dončić claimed the top position, Curry and James still maintained strong sales, ranking at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Notable top sellers also include Jayson Tatum, Jalen Brunson, and Victor Wembanyama, despite the latter's season-ending due to health issues. In the upcoming NBA playoffs, Dončić and James are set to face the Minnesota Timberwolves, whose rising star Anthony Edwards secured the No. 7 spot in jersey sales.
