Former Mead standout Teryn Gardner has transferred to Gonzaga's women's basketball team. The 5-foot-9 guard previously played at Boise State, where she averaged 3.6 points and 2.2 rebounds per game in her freshman season, making 26 of 73 3-point attempts.
Gardner, a former Greater Spokane League MVP and defensive player of the year, was pursued by Gonzaga during her time at Mead but had committed to Boise State. Gonzaga is also set to sign two more transfers to address departures, including the signing of Ball State University by redshirt junior Bree Salenbien, who overcame two season-ending knee injuries at Gonzaga.
In addition to Gardner, Salenbien, and sophomore Claire O’Connor, Gonzaga is looking to bolster its roster after recent player movements. Local journalism support is encouraged through contributions to The Spokesman-Review's Northwest Passages community forums series.
