Former Xavier center Lassina Traore has committed to play for the Texas Longhorns, following coach Sean Miller to Austin. The 6-foot-10 Traore, who never played a game for Xavier due to a season-ending knee injury, had notable performances at Long Beach State before transferring to Xavier in April 2024. He averaged a double-double per game with Long Beach State, showcasing skills in scoring, rebounding, and assists.
Traore joins a group of former Xavier players who have entered the transfer portal, with him and combo guard Dailyn Swain choosing to follow Miller to Texas. Traore's commitment adds to the roster changes happening after the Musketeers had six players leave through the transfer portal in the offseason. His addition brings depth and experience to the Longhorns' frontcourt, as he looks to contribute significantly under Miller's coaching at Texas.
