Former Wisconsin Lutheran High School standout Kon Knueppel has announced his decision to enter the NBA draft, as revealed on social media on April 16. Knueppel, the second-leading scorer for Duke University during their successful season that saw them reach the national semifinals, is projected to be a lottery pick in the upcoming draft.
During his sole season with the Blue Devils, Knueppel played a pivotal role, averaging 14.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists while starting in all 39 games. His contributions helped Duke secure a 35-4 overall record, claim both regular-season and tournament championships in the Atlantic Coast Conference, secure a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and advance to the Final Four. Despite a heartbreaking loss to Houston in the semifinals, Knueppel's performance earned him recognition as a second-team all-conference selection in the ACC and solidified his status as a top-15 draft prospect.
The 6-7 star, son of former UW-Green Bay standout Chari Nordgaard and Wisconsin Lutheran College's Kon Sr., has a strong basketball lineage. Knueppel's achievements include leading Wisconsin Lutheran to an undefeated season and a WIAA Division 2 state championship, with his recent victory in Division 1 showcasing his continued success in high school basketball.
