Former Notre Dame women's basketball forward Kylee Watson has decided to transfer to Villanova for her final year of college basketball. Watson, a 6-foot-4 former McDonald’s All-American from Linwood, N.J., played two seasons at Oregon before joining Notre Dame, where she spent her third season rehabbing from a torn ACL. She averaged 6.8 points and 4.2 rebounds in 2023 and 6.2 points and 5.0 rebounds in 2024 at Notre Dame. Villanova, finishing 21-15 overall last season, will be Watson's third collegiate program.
Watson is among the four outgoing transfers from Notre Dame's women's basketball team, with Emma Risch transferring to Florida State. The team, which finished 28-6 last season, also saw Kate Koval heading to LSU and Olivia Miles to TCU. Notable returning players for Notre Dame include Hannah Hidalgo, Cass Prosper, and KK Bransford, while Malaya Cowles was added as a graduate transfer from Wake Forest. The team's incoming high school prospect Leah Macy's availability for the upcoming season is uncertain due to a knee injury. The deadline for women’s basketball players to enter the transfer portal this offseason is April 23.
