Florida Tech recently introduced Will Murphy as the new head coach for the men's basketball team and Ashley Raley-Ross as the head coach for the women's team. Murphy, previously an associate head coach at Wofford College, brings Division I experience and emphasizes building a competitive team at Florida Tech. Raley-Ross, who served as an assistant coach at Wofford, aims to maintain the program's family-oriented culture while implementing a fast-paced, defense-focused style of play.
Raley-Ross takes over from John Reynolds, who coached the women's team for 38 seasons. Florida Tech's athletic director, Jamie Joss, praised Raley-Ross for her coaching experience with scholar athletes and highlighted her potential to elevate the program. Similarly, Joss commended Murphy's coaching abilities and strategic approach, believing he will lead the men's team to success in the Sunshine State Conference. Both coaches expressed their commitment to continuous improvement and a competitive mindset as they prepare their teams for the upcoming seasons.
