Howard University transfer Destiny Howell, a 6-foot guard, recently committed to the Wisconsin women's basketball team under coach Robin Pingeton on April 16. Howell, a standout player with accolades including a player of the year honor in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in 2023 and first-team all-conference recognition this past season, brings a strong track record to the Badgers. In her most recent season at Howard, she averaged 14.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game, achieving personal bests in assists, steals, and blocks.
Hailing from Queens, New York, Howell joins a transfer portal class alongside Laci Steele from North Carolina State and Gift Uchenna from Southern Illinois. During her time at Howard, she became the school's eighth all-time leading scorer with 1,461 points, showcasing her prowess on the court. Despite missing a season due to an ACL injury, Howell returned to play with solid shooting percentages in her most recent season with Howard. Wisconsin still has several roster spots to fill as they continue to build their team for the upcoming season.
