Samuel Lusk has been named the new head coach of the University High School girls' basketball team, succeeding his father, Nick Lusk. Samuel, who has served as an assistant coach for the past four seasons at UHS, brings experience as a former head coach at St. Francis Middle School. A Morgantown High graduate and teacher, Samuel expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity and his passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the court.
Nick Lusk will continue to support the team as an assistant coach while Samuel takes on the head coaching role. Samuel values his father's assistance in navigating the transition and is eager to imprint his coaching style on the program. With a focus on student-athlete development and a commitment to building a successful team, Samuel looks forward to bringing his unique perspective to the UHS girls' basketball program, following his father's successful tenure that included a Region I co-championship and a state tournament appearance.
