Notre Dame women's basketball coach Niele Ivey has secured a commitment from Kansas State grad transfer Gisela Sanchez, adding more size and depth to the 2025-26 Irish roster. Sanchez, a 6-foot-4 Spain native, is set to sign soon and becomes the second transfer portal pickup for Notre Dame following the recent addition of 6-3 Wake Forest grad transfer forward Malaya Cowles.
Sanchez, who averaged 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in 2025 for Kansas State, brings experience and depth to the Irish squad. Her addition, along with Cowles, increases the scholarship players on the roster to six for the upcoming season. Notable departures from Notre Dame's previous roster include starters Maddy Westbeld, Sonia Citron, and Liatu King due to expired eligibility, while key reserves have also moved on to other programs. Notre Dame's confirmed returnees include standout guards Hannah Hidalgo, Cass Prosper, and KK Bransford, setting the stage for an intriguing 2025-26 season.
