Josh Kain has been appointed as the new girls basketball coach at Castle High School, a decision endorsed during the Warrick County School Corp. board meeting. With Castle being recognized as one of the top programs in the Southern Indiana Athletic Conference, boasting 13 conference championships and a strong performance record, Kain steps into a prestigious coaching role. Castle concluded the previous season with a 15-8 record, reaching the Class 4A sectional semifinals.
Having excelled at Kouts High School and accumulated 1,580 career points, Kain brings a solid background in basketball. Currently serving as a math teacher at Castle, he has extensive experience as an assistant coach in the boys program for nearly twenty years, in addition to coaching boys golf. Following Bob Meier's departure after eight successful years, during which Castle achieved 136 wins and four sectional championships, Kain assumes leadership of a team that maintains a tradition of excellence. The Knights will see the return of key players like Jayden Scott and Izabell Grantz, both recognized as All-SIAC selections, as they look to build on their past successes under Kain's guidance.
