Four girls basketball players from the Lackawanna League were honored by the Pennsylvania Sports Writers in their all-state teams. Mountain View junior Addison Kilmer led the group as a first-team selection in Class 2A. Joining her were Scranton Prep senior Jenna Hillebrand, Dunmore senior Sophia Talutto, and Old Forge senior Jewlya McCullon, all named to the second team in their respective classes.
Kilmer, a standout player for Mountain View, continued her impressive performance from the previous season, averaging 18.4 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 3.9 blocks. Hillebrand, a repeat all-state selection, contributed significantly to Scranton Prep's successes, while Talutto and McCullon showcased their talent and leadership on the court. These players' accomplishments reflect their dedication and skill in girls high school basketball.
The recognition also extended to players from the Wyoming Valley Conference, with notable mentions such as Hazleton Area's Kaitlyn Bindas and Pittston Area's Daniella Ranieli. Additionally, former Scranton High standout Zya Small, now at Friends Central, earned a spot on the non-PIAA all-state team for her impressive performance this season.
