Bay High's Oliver Pratt stood out as a key player for the Tornadoes in the boys' basketball season, earning the title of Bay County Boys player of the year. His contributions as a senior point guard were crucial under the leadership of new head coach Michael Memmen. Pratt's performance included averaging 14.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. He will further his basketball career at the Baptist University of Florida.
Coach Memmen's impact on the Bay High team was evident as he led them to an improved record of 16-12, up from 13-13 the previous season. The Tornadoes achieved a 6-1 record against county opponents, sharing the county title with Mosley. They clinched the Class 4A District 1 championship and secured a spot in the FHSAA state playoffs. The all-county team also featured notable players such as Eli McFatter, Cash Zirkle, and Wy’Kien Waters from various high schools in the region.
