Tennessee baseball climbed in the rankings to No. 3 in the USA TODAY coaches poll and garnered a first-place vote after securing a series win at Ole Miss. The Vols, with a record of 31-5 overall and 11-4 in the SEC, clinched the series with a dramatic ninth-inning two-run homer from Reese Chapman, ultimately winning 3-2.
The Vols had a strong start to the season, winning their first 20 games and extending their winning streak to 22 games dating back to the previous College World Series. Despite a series loss to Texas A&M in early April, Tennessee has performed well in SEC play, claiming four series wins in five weekends. The team will face Bellarmine before a three-game series against Kentucky at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
