Portsmouth baseball held off Seacoast rival Winnacunnet in a Division I game at Leary Field. Portsmouth's Porter Lalime hit a home run in the fourth inning, giving the Clippers a 3-2 lead. Winnacunnet tied the game in the fifth, but Portsmouth secured a 4-3 victory with a sacrifice fly by Joe Zingariello.
Lalime, who missed part of the previous season due to injury, contributed significantly to Portsmouth's win. Winnacunnet's Justin Coates delivered a strong performance on the mound, allowing five hits and striking out five in five innings. Portsmouth's Peter Bancroft and pitchers Driscoll and Lampert also played key roles in the team's success. Both teams had solid offensive performances, with standout plays from various players on each side.
