Horseheads High School senior Mason Holloway achieved a perfect game by striking out 16 of the 21 batters he faced in a 9-0 victory over Chesterfield during the team's spring trip to Myrtle Beach. Holloway's pitching performance, which included striking out the final eight batters, marked a significant milestone in his already impressive career.
This flawless outing followed a previous combined perfect game with Brendan Clark against Binghamton. Holloway's season totals stand at 12 innings, 27 strikeouts, and two wins. The Horseheads baseball program, having not seen a perfect game in at least the previous 48 years, now boasts two within a span of less than two weeks, showcasing Holloway's exceptional talent and the team's cohesive performance.
