Arkansas Pitcher Gage Wood Set for Comeback Against Texas A&M

Arkansas junior right-handed pitcher Gage Wood is set to make his return from a shoulder injury this weekend against the Texas A&M Aggies at Baum-Walker Stadium, following his last appearance on Feb. 23 against Michigan where he struck out six batters before the injury. Wood will take over the starting role in Game 2, replacing sophomore Gabe Gaeckle in the rotation due to Gaeckle's struggles in SEC play.

Wood's comeback comes slightly later than initially predicted by head coach Dave Van Horn, who praised Wood's work ethic and progress as he prepares to rejoin the team. The Razorbacks, currently tied for fourth in the SEC with a team ERA of 3.65, look to benefit from Wood's return to bolster their pitching staff. The upcoming series against Texas A&M will provide an opportunity for Wood to ease back into the rotation as the team aims for a successful second half of the season.
