Amanda Workman has been promoted to Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics at Sul Ross State University, effective April 1. She previously served as the Athletic Director at SRSU since March 2021. President Carlos Hernandez cited her positive impact on enrollment and academics, particularly during the transition to NCAA Division II Athletics, which led to increased student-athlete population, graduation rates, and GPAs.
Before joining SRSU, Workman was the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations at West Texas A&M University for 11 years, where she spearheaded various initiatives and projects. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the coaches, administrators, and student-athletes at SRSU, highlighting the supportive environment created by Dr. Hernandez. Workman, a West Texas A&M University alumna, is pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership with a focus on enhancing the post-athletic career transition experience for student-athletes.
