BELOUNI ran well for this tag three back when just missing; pulled a no-chance trip when shipped to Maryland to try a stakes race in his next start, and he probably got the wrong ride last time when trying to circle the field around the final turn in a race that was dominated on the lead; one more chance with a big rider change. CONMAN has back races that make him tough in here, though he will have to be ready to go off the layoff; Morley, first after claimed by, turf: 5 for his last 18, 28%, $8.54 ROI.

AND THE RUNNER IS got caught wide from an outside draw and still finished well into a wire-to-wire winner in his debut; was heavily favored on the way to the gate when entered back on Whitney Day when he ran off and was forced to scratch; well-bred colt gets to break from an inside post this time. HARBAUGH looked to be prepping in the dirt sprint debut; entered back quickly stretching out on turf, and he ran a much improved race in that spot while only second-best to an impressive winner; threat right back. BROADCAST is a son of Breeders' Cup FM Turf winner Shared Account, and a half to Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Sharing; debuts for top connections but took the worst of the draw.

HOT CURRENCY is entered in a state-bred stakes race going long on Friday. She is a contender there despite the distance question, but would be pretty hard to beat in her current form should Linda Rice elect for this spot; she was away from a good rail when second-best in the Bouwerie two back, and her two surrounding wins suggest she is an improved 3yo. TENNESSEE BELLE ran a very good race when second to Tommy Jo in her debut here last summer; came right back to win her next start, then faced On Time Girl (now a multiple graded stakes winner) at Churchill before the layoff; starts back for Pletcher after her prior trainer was flagged for a series of positive tests with his horses late last year. VEKOMA'S DIVA wired a field of Arkansas-breds to win on debut; gained more experience when forced to race behind horses early in his second start; needs a forward move if the top two show up,

GADGET PLAY raced greenly before putting in a game finish in a useful debut effort at Churchill; he was studdish in the paddock before his last race, but he flashed much improved speed over that sloppy track before finishing a good second to the talented Stimulate; bred to stretch out, and this looks like a better spot. SIDEARM made his first two starts in NY on turf, and he ran well in both of those races; return to dirt last time might be a bit better than it looks, as he was close to a fast and contested pace and widest off the turn, before getting tired late to finish behind two closers. VEBLEN is the lone first-time starter in the field, and he was keeping company with Grade 1-winning stablemate Baeza in the morning earlier this month; the dam was a route winner and is a sister to multiple Grade 1-winner Swiss Skydiver; Mott 3 for his last 33 with older (3 and up) MSW first-time starters routing on dirt, though he is 2 for 7 in that sample so far this year, including an 18/1 winner.

TWISTED FILIGREE dueled and just failed to last in his return to Saratoga off a layoff in June; was back in with state-breds last time, but that was a fast race, and he ran well again while only third-best; fits well here off the claim, and his speed plays in this field. RUN CURTIS RUN is more pace-and-trip-dependent than is ideal, but he rarely fails to fire; repeats the AT Cole to allowance/optional claiming move that led to his 95 Beyer victory here last summer. GOLD LUCK has never run on turf, but he handles the other two surfaces just fine; he also has a half-sister that was versatile enough to win on all three surfaces, including a stakes race on turf; threat if he can bring his good race over to this surface.

TWO EAGLES RIVER ran an excellent race in defeat last time when moving prematurely into the teeth of a fast pace, only to get run down late by a perfectly-ridden closer; faces a few of the same rivals right back in this spot, this time for a trainer who does excellent work off the claim. EMIRATES ROAD mostly concentrates on slightly longer distances, but he is a one-turn horse, and his recent form has held up for several different trainers; off the claim again, this time for Linda Rice. TWENTY FOUR MAMBA got involved on that fast pace last time, before weakening in the final furlong; he was off a layoff in that spot, and using the waiver might have hinted that he needed that start; his effort in the win prior to that four-month break suggests he can be tough in here.

MOMMY'S TURN's tendency to get rank has worked against her a few times already, and that was the case again last time as she refused to take a hold early, wound up wide on the first turn, and then was stuck on the outside all the way in a race run at a rated pace; she still got to the leaders in the stretch, only to weaken in the late stages; needs to relax, but her good race makes her tough, and they might just be able to turn her loose in this spot. STARSHIP PEGASUS exits the same race as the top one. She was in behind that rated pace all the way down past mid-stretch without finding room, and finally had to alter course behind the winner in the late stages; felt unlucky in that spot, though the trip was hard to miss. DIVIDEND RECAP was a good-looking winner off the layoff this year, then endured two less-than-ideal trips in her next two starts; benefitted from the added distance last time, but she finished strong to close that race down; not out of this.

ALWAYS ANGELS earned an 80 Beyer when just missing in a sprint on this track last summer; blew away a field of $50k claimers in her return to NY earlier this year going the mile; was returning from a short layoff in that last one, where she chased from the outside for a long way and got tired; right back in a similar spot off the claim. KYLE'S MOM won three in a row in the claiming ranks for her prior trainer, with all of those victories coming over this distance; dropped back down last time, where she pulled a trip similar to the top one while on the chase, and just failed to get up; off the claim for a barn that has had success with new acquisitions at the meet. PENS STREET finished ahead of both ALWAYS ANGELS and KYLE'S MOM in that 7/5 race over this track and trip; she made hard work of that one while in a drive for almost the entire race, but she just kept coming and almost got there; tried stretching out in a tougher spot last time; back quickly dropping down.

MINORINCONVENIENCE won both Saratoga dirt starts as a 2yo, including a clear-cut victory in the Funny Cide; hasn't faced NY-breds since finishing a game second in a fast running of the Gander back in March; has been in too tough recently, though he actually did some running in the Curlin last time; finally back in a spot where he can be competitive. TALK TO ME JIMMY is already an open stakes winner and Grade 3-placed going this distance (no one else in the field has a win beyond a mile); exits a hard-fought win in the NY Derby, where he made the speedy Sculcos Folly race every step of the way before putting him away late; the one to beat. ONEBIGBEAUTFULBILL is 2 for 2 sprinting to begin his career; facing a difficult stretch out while also giving away plenty in the way of experience to the top two, but he has upside and might get the right trip in this race.

TAMARIN broke with speed, but he was in a MSW run at a strong pace, and one that ultimately went to closers, in his GP debut earlier this year; starts back with class relief, and he is faster than it might appear. ENDERNITE made his lone start as a 2yo in a sprint that featured no passing; bred to stretch out, and he is a new gelding for his return. FRANKLIN DELANO finished a good second behind Bottas as a 2yo here last summer; failed to improve much in his first two starts off the layoff, and he didn't get enough class relief last time; drops again, this time as a new gelding.

CODY'S APPROVAL might have been using the turf run on debut as a prep. She improved when switched to dirt for her second start, though she was no match for an easy, front-running winner that day; this appears to be a likely spot as she breaks from the outside and faces a suspect field. DOTSY has the advantage of being a new face in a race like this. Her unraced dam is a sister to a Grade 3-winning dirt sprinter, and she has already dropped six winning foals, including multiple stakes-winning dirt sprinter Dirt Monster (97 Beyer top). ATLAS A EYE flashed some speed when finishing second, ahead of two of these same rivals, in her debut here last month, though that race came back slow; keeps Franco as she moves to the inside draw.

BRIGADIER GENERAL has never run on turf, though there is some pedigree to suggest that he can handle it, and he looks loose on the lead in this race; dangerous if able to transfer his main track form over to this surface. UNIT ECONOMICS took a few starts to figure out the racing game, though he did progress right along while finishing either first for second in six straight races as a 4yo - four of those with Beyers in the 90s, a level none of his rivals in this field has reached on turf; missed a lot of time after an underrated effort in a Grade 3 early last year; suppose he had a right to need that first start back behind a wire-to-wire winner, though he did not run well in that spot; drops sharply. RIGHT TO WIN is a former stablemate was never on par with UNIT ECONOMICS while racing out of the same barn to begin his career; he did find himself last year while winning three of his last four starts after enduring a long layoff of his own; also dropping sharply for this while second off the bench.

THIRTEEN RED FLAGS is capable of an effort that would make her competitive here, and she also has the right running style for this race, which is projected to be run at a fast pace; might have been using that first start back as a fitness-builder when taken out of her game by being sent to the lead and tiring. CALLING AN AUDIBLE also fits well here from a trip and dynamics perspective - she just isn't a winning type, as evidenced by her overall record; two recent efforts over this track weren't her best, and she also ran poorly in two prior starts at Saratoga. KAZ FARM GIRL took advantage of class relief to break her maiden in front-running fashion when last seen, though she was basically bulletproof in that spot while facing only two rivals; still has upside, and it's not clear that she needs the lead to be effective.

Well-bred SAINT TROPEZ made her debut going long against a better field than this one early in the meet; she showed speed in that race and brought that field down to midstretch before tiring; turns back with the upside, and it's not like there is a ton of interesting turf form in this field. FLETCH'S ROCKETTE also tried going longer in her lone turf start to date, where she made the lead and tired; has run better sprinting on dirt; back to turf, this time going short, after earning a new Beyer top off the layoff. MY DIVINE SPIRIT had a bit of a trip in her debut over course and distance as a 2yo; was only second-best when sprinting on turf again before the layoff; makes her second start back after failing to fire in her return; blinkers on.

$100k yearling MR. ROGERS is by a versatile sire in Munnings (14% with juvenile first-time starters, 11% with turf routers); the dam is an unraced sister to a Group 3 winner in Europe, and his half-brother, Harry Hood, is Grade 2-placed on the grass; bred for this, and has been breezing right along. AL MOWASHAAH owns the valuable edge in experience, though he has lost as the favorite in both starts so far, including the turf debut last time; he didn't come close to reaching the Beyer par for this level in his first start on grass, though this field might not be as strong as that one. CALLING MR. MO doesn't have a ton of turf in his pedigree, but he did do some running in the dirt sprint debut when chasing and tiring after a bit of a slow start; picks up Prat for the surface switch.

GEE NO HOLLANDER has concentrated on sprinting this year while achieving some solid results, and he has improved since being claimed by these connections in May; stretching out for this, but he handled distance without issue early on in his career, and he can show speed, which is always valuable out of the chute. Save the effort when turned back to sprint three starts back, SECURED LANDING has been racing in excellent form as a 5yo, and he has done so for several different trainers; has won five of his last six starts over this distance; turns back after getting involved on a contested pace last time going longer. GLEN AIRY wheels back quickly off the claim for Linda Rice after dropping in class to post an easy win going longer here 12 days ago; in good form, and going a bit shorter might actually be better for him.

SIDE QUEST ran better than it looks with a troubled trip on debut; took a big step forward when crushing maidens with the switch to turf last time; handy filly steps right up in a field packed with speed. MORE CHAMPAGNE impressed when stalking and overpowering the well-meant Shining Moment (who is also back in this field) to win her debut; got in over her head in a Group 2 overseas last time; better fit here, and she proved that she can rate and run from the rail in the debut win. EXTRAVAGANZOO was no match for MORE CHAMPAGNE and SHINING MOMENT back in April at Keeneland, though she got bet in that race; went back to the drawing board after that, and she looked good defeating fellow NY-breds easily over course and distance last month in fast time; threat right back.

FOREVER TO GO has had more chances than anyone in this field, though she also owns the top five speed figures and has finished second four times in tougher MSW company; turf to dirt and finally getting some class relief on her preferred surface. STARSHIP LIZZY challenged the winning favorite on the lead before settling for second-best in her 3yo debut last time while using the claiming waiver; can easily do better with that race under her belt. ALL BRIGHT was making just the second start of her career, and first on dirt, when finishing just behind STARSHIP LIZZY in a similar spot here 24 days ago; gets a big rider change for the rematch,

WINE CANDY ends up in a new barn that is 33% off the claim. We like that they want a flat mile today as this colt has speed and draws outside. This colt did try tougher at Tampa and not that long ago. WILLING ONE is the other speed horse in this race. He did break his maiden going this distance only three back and did so just off the pace. We see an identical trip. We even like his most recent when trying two turns on the synth for the first time (a length back at the 1/8th pole). AMERICAN TACT got better at Evangeline in Louisiana and we have seen horses go from there to here and run well. A poor start cost this guy two back. This guy is 3-2-1-0 on a fast dirt.

SIX SEVEN BREW is by a 16% debut sire (2YO's only) and a 6% debut turf sire (all starters). His dam went 15-1-5-4 for 93K (7-0-3-3 on the grass for 39K). Both sibs won and both won their 2YO debut. One of two sibs won on the grass and is 1 for 1 for 39K. Both siblings are full brothers. Works are rock solid. TILOU ran OK last out and that was his turf debut. January bred draws outside again and could easily improve 2nd time on the green. RIYADH WAY is by a 17% debut turf sire. His dam was un-raced. Lone turf sib is 2-1-0-0 and earned 13K. Turf and distance Tommies of 360/341 bode well for sod debut. His last race came back key when 2 of 4 returned to win with figs of 48 and 57. JET FUEL is by a 6% debut turf sire. His dam never tried the green and this is her first grass foal. LEE'S ONTHE LOOSE is by a 12% debut sire and a 5% debut turf sire. His dam went 5-0-1-0 for 11K (1-0-0-0 on the green). Of 6 sibs to race, 5 won with 4 having beat winners. Two of six sibs won on the green including a multiple grass winner of 144K (won turf debut). LIFE IS ONLY ONE is by a 14% debut sire and a 10% debut turf sire. His dam went 21-3-2-2 and earned 64K (3-0-0-0 on the turf). All 4 sibs won with 3 having beat winners. Three sibs failed to win on the sod but one did hit the board. FIGHT AND PRAY is by a 6% debut sire and a 11% debut turf sire. His dam went 3-0-0-0 for 3K (two turf starts). Two of three sibs won and one of two won on the grass.

DENVER'S ALLEY has speed but so does the 3. Here is the key: our top pick was quicker in their common race on July 5th so chances are that stays the same. Drawing outside main pace foe is another plus. Perhaps this mare didn't like being on the inside last out. We like that Herrera returns. BOOT'S ON THE MOON just ran better. She has put good races together before and you only have to look back five starts to see it. She has won from the rail before so that is nice. BAD GAL PARTY has speed but our top pick looks quicker. She is still a three time winner on this surface. If our top pick is tardy to start then this filly benefits the most.

HOPE TOWN GIRL is by a 10% debut turf sire. Her dam went 3-0-0-0 on the green and earned 1K. Lone grass sib is 1-0-0-0. Horses that like the Tapeta often like the grass. This filly tries five furlongs for the second time and her distance Tomlinson of 418 screams short sprint. Speed with other speed makes her trip worrisome but good horses often find a way. UNCAPTURED DOVE just ran better and now puts three races together. She draws outside and gets good race flow. ZOLENE just ran better on this sod and goes for a top turf barn. She has passed runners before.

DILLY DALLY was only four lengths back with a furlong to go in her debut and that isn't that bad. She was fractious at the gate in her second start and perhaps she didn't like the turf. Seven of eight sibs beat winners. She drops to her lowest level and gets back to the dirt all while drawing fine. BODACIOUS QUEEN is more than capable of a Beyer in the 50's on the synth. Class drop could easily prove the tipping point. JUST MAJESTIC just ran better when first at this level. Now she puts three races together. Regular rider tags along. PAPAS COOKIE is by a 7% debut sire. Her dam went 1-0-0-0. Both sibs have raced but are winless. I'M CHILL is by a 8% debut sire. Her dam went 13-0-3-2 and earned 33K. One of three sibs won and is a multiple winner of 51K.

SWEETCITY has a versatile style that we always like. She hails from a top barn that is 25% with their repeating winners. A pair of recent works is just right. Her last race came back super key when all 5 runners returned to either win or place. The win Beyers are 68 and 57 while the place figs are 60, 47, and 59. GOLDEN VALLEY is a hard trier that has hit the exacta in 9 of 16 starts. She has never missed the exacta on the local dirt in five starts. State-bred does try open foes while this barn is only 5% with their repeating winners. MISS T BOBO just ran well at Colonial and that is never easy to do when shipping in from here. Will that effort tax her any today? She does have a pair of local works but not sure that is enough. Stalking style and outside post goes hand in hand though.

CATALONIA should trip out well if all stay in especially the two speeds. Her last race came back key when 2 of 8 returned to win with figs of 92 and 79. This filly loves this sod and can fire fresh all for a top turf barn. CORBET'S CRUSH is a new turf horse. She figures a good trip and draws outside for the first time in a while. This filly is often a price and just worked a local bullet. Still no way to know if that recent race was taxing or not. WOULD I LIE TO YOU is by a 9% debut turf sire. Her dam went 8-1-2-0 on the green for 21K. Three sibs failed to hit the board on the sod. Her last race came back super key when 5 of 6 returned to either win or place. The win Beyers are 66, 57, and 50. The place figs are 55 and 65. We like that this filly puts four races together. MODERN BEAUTY is by a 5% debut turf sire. Her dam went 3-1-0-0 on the green and earned 22K. Lone sib never tried the weeds. ADIOS TOOTSIE is by a 6% debut turf sire. Her dam never tried the grass and this her first grass foal.

EL OREJON loves, loves, loves seven furlongs so he should do the same for today's 6 1/2 panels. What if this freshening actually helps? Team Klesaris are 17% off this type of layoff. His 405 distance Tommy fits nicely (the horse not the barn). A pair of speed horses set the pace table nicely. EZ ORB NOT got a Beyer top two back and then broke 8th of 9 versus first time winners previously. He could get first run on the speeds. That seven furlong effort only three back was solid. The rail draw is a bit of bad luck though. GUS SWAYZE has been claimed four times in his short career. New barn is 11% off the red tag. This guy can pass runners and cuts back a half furlong today.

ZIRZOP broke second to last in his debut and dead last in his second start. Perhaps now is a good time for two turns. His distance Tommy of 395 bodes well. Team Sandal are 27% on the green and with a flat bet profit. We always like recent works let alone three of them. SIR GUINNESS goes second time with new barn and they are 21% on the green (big flat bet profit). This gelding has some speed and drops in class. Is this the money run? APACHE ONE SIX ran OK in his last pair. We like that this guy has tried two turns in all of his starts. Second time with Reyes up can't hurt. VOL DU CONDOR exits a key race where 2 of 6 returned to win with figs of 68 and 62 (another finished 2nd with a 65 Beyer). We can't fault anyone that circles his name.

TAPSTICK got a taste of winning in his 12th start and simply liked it. We see this often. He just ran a Beyer top for his new barn and now draws better on the rail. Race flow is fine and win rider stays put all for a barn that is 14% with their repeating winners. RAFAROO puts three races together and drops in class. This horse has some speed and in a race without a ton of zip. With a good break and some early encouragement then why can't this guy laugh all the way to the bank? He can pass runners just in case just look at that race two back. CANDY ADDICTION does have some nice turf tries at Tampa before the layoff. What if this freshening helps? Horses that like the grass often like this Tapeta. A better price than many in here we would think.

VICTORIOUS SECRET has speed and the rail. For a horse like this, that first turn is your friend especially if it comes up quick like it does here. This filly is bred to like two turns on the sod with her grass and distance Tommies of 316/395. SERRANIA is the other speed. We think this filly can stalk even if she found the front end previously. She just ran a Beyer top and now puts four races together. Team Gutierrez are 20% on the green. ZAZA J hasn't done much to date but did want a turf route in her debut. Team Jospeh are 24% off a long layoff. Her last race came back key when 2 of 6 returned to win with figs of 66 and 50 (two more finished 2nd with figs of 62 and 51). Early tote action one or the way is of interest. FIFTYSHADESOFPINK is by a 7% debut turf sire. Her dam went 3-1-0-0 on the grass and earned 30K (won turf debut). Two of five sibs won on the green including a debut turf winner. Another sib hit the board.

TONYTONE blew the start in his debut and was shuffled back in his last race. This guy deserves better racing luck. Those tries two and three back were more like it and we see the same today. New barn is 23% off the claim and they often use Reyes at 24%. Slight class drop might prove the tipping point. HOLY COW gets in super light and has some speed. The one to catch, right? Those were some soft splits last out but this guy was only second early. Form cycle hints at better though while that effort off the layoff was a Beyer top. RUDI does have a few starts before the layoff that were solid. He ran evenly in his most recent and could move forward all while shedding the blinkers. PATARA PRINCE is by a 7% debut sire. His dam was un-raced and this is her first foal.

GHOSTLIGHT has trouble putting races together so when she does start she has to make it count. That wasn't a problem in her most recent. This filly was denied a clean race in half of her starts to date. Works are exactly as expected from team Joseph. Others have better figs but that just helps the price a tad more. WINROOSKI has speed and gets in light. Second time with new barn might be key. Catch to cash. MO JAVA did try much tougher only two and three back. Her most recent was just better and that was a decent bunch hence her odds of 12-1. She gets off the rail after back to back starts and keeps her regular rider.

COME ON TEESHA is by a 6% debut sire and a 4% debut turf sire. Her dam went 24-5-3-3 and earned 207K all while winning her 2YO debut. She banked 83K on the grass. Lone sib is 11-4-2-1 and earned 120K while 7-3-1-0 on the sod for 75K (won turf debut). This filly only cost 25K so her debut in maiden claimers is fine with us. WINNING DEFENSE tried the sod for the first time last out and ran just fine when 3rd at 5-1. Second time on the sod with a more outside post can only help. Trainer stats for team Fawkes are just good across the board. THE COROMOTO just ran a Beyer top and did so in her turf debut. Team Barboza are 24% with their turf sprinters. This filly draws outside main pace foe. BOLTOUTTATHEBLUE is by a 14% debut sire and a 17% debut turf sire. Her dam was un-raced. Of 5 sibs to race, 4 won and 2 beat winners. One of five sibs won on the grass while another hit the board.

NAVY CROSS has a versatile style that we always like. Recent starts are just better and now he strings four races together. Even in this large field, there isn't that much pace. Why can't this guy go wire to wire and laugh all the way to the bank? Stick 'em up. BETTERA pulled in his race three back and then stumbled at the start two back. A clean trip netted him a 77 Beyer last out. This horse can put good races back to back just look three back. Expecting a good price. SARATOGA FLASH drew the 10 hole last out but still won as the chalk. Now he draws even further out. Current form is still good and now this guy runs for the fourth time for team Tomlinson. This guy does like to win versus the place and show. Herrera stays put and is 29% for this barn.

THREE MILE GOLD might not clear off early but will be forwardly placed in all likelihood. This colt just won his turf debut and did so first out for new barn. A pair of recent works is just right. Win rider is 19% for this barn and said barn is 20% with their turf sprinters. SABIAN has good figs but has yet to actually win on this sod. If this race is pulled from the grass then the playing field tilts in this direction for sure. Today's pace doesn't figure as quick as most recent but perhaps that puts him closer to it. Any chance this guy didn't like being in between runners last out? BANDED ROCKET puts three races together and does so for a high percentage barn. This guy did get an 81 Beyer on this sod only four back. Class drop is main calling card. NEOSTAR exits a key race where 2 of 6 returned to win with figs of 68 and 71 (another two finished 2nd with figs of 64 and 56).

TSHIEBWE is speed with more speed but draws outside all of it. He loves seven panels and firing fresh. Win rider tags along and this horse is often a good price. CARAMBASO needs to break sharp from the rail but if so then he could find the front end. We could see an effort like that one two back where he got a 79 Beyer while going this far. Recent works are sharp. DUNE ROAD is quite consistent in the Beyer department as he often gets fig in the 70's. New barn is 23% off the claim. What if this short freshening helps? He did run OK when last seen returning off a layoff. Race flow is more than fair if all stay in.

SCARLETT'S LAW won her only turf start and it came only three back. We like that this filly has tried nothing but two turns. She is just bred to like a turf route with Tommies of 334/385. Her tactical speed helps the trip while class drop could easily prove the tipping point. GETAHOLDAYOURSELF just loves it here with back to back wins (DQ'd two back). This filly has never run poorly on the green. Her figs figure while win rider fits this filly nicely. VANISH did face better on the sod at Tampa where the grass racing is quite good. Team Joseph are 28% with new runners. Recent works are solid as expected from this barn. That 344 turf Tommy is hard to miss. QUEEN KONG is by a 0 for 13 debut turf sire. Her dam was un-raced and this is her first grass foal.

STUNNINGLY PERFECT came from off a slow pace to finish a close second when debuting in an identical spot and has since changed trainers to Chircop, who has decent numbers with new shooters. Wilson is 4 for 13 at the meet for the barn. NEXT OF KIN is adding blinkers off an improved third in her second trip postward. RAINBOW TRAIL is by the 12% 2yo first-out sire Mendelssohn and her dam notched her debut at 2.

SURFSIDE BEACH is shedding the hood for the sharp drop from OS/$40K company and may have found her proper place in the scheme of things.

MOR JOE'S SPIRIT has been working right along for his first outing since getting softened up in speed duel at first asking against the likes of Voodoo Doll and Brachetto Nov. 13. Lasix is added for the surface switch to the grass--his dam was a turf winner who dropped two turf winners. Professional maiden AUNTIE'S BAMBINO was competitive on the grass and the Tapeta during the first half of the meet and should be closing for a share. CYCLONE TAYLOR is debuting with some quick works on his tab. The son of 9% debut sire Essential Quality is out of a stakes-winning dirt sprinter who's been a modest producer.

THIS DUDE A BREEZE hugged the rail until the stretch before closing outside for second when descending from $25K to $15K in his latest. He's continuing his slide down the value ladder in this $10K seller with the hot second-leading rider Aebly taking over. SWAN LAKE had a claim on him voided last out when beating $7.5K opponents, which followed a narrow loss at this level to ALLEY OOP JOHNNY. The latter is stepping up off a $7.5K claim and should be a factor with leading rider Pietro Moran gaining the mount.

TONY FROM ANGUS, who made all four of his starts over 1 1/16 miles, should be dangerous on the turnback to seven-eighths with blinkers on. Trainer Don MacRae has solid numbers pertaining to this situation. MR. PERFECT is picking up Aebly off a flat fourth going 1 1/8 miles while cutting back to a more suitable distance. TRANQUILLO and LEMON SWEETS are prospects for the lower rungs of vertical wagers.

CLOCKWORK ANGEL bobbled at the break when a sagging fifth while bet down to 7-2 at first asking on the Tapeta. The daughter of 13% turf sprint sire Hard Spun is the first foal from an unraced mare. Her second dam produced two stakes horses by Hard Spun--Green Light Go and Rafaroo. MARVELLOUS MARVIN is by the late/great OS sire Souper Speedy and his versatile dam won the lawn before failing to produce a turf winner. The gelding has worked fast for a trainer who had a 14% strike rate with 2yo first-timers going back five years ($2.99 ROI). FLATTER ZIP ran fourth when switching to the inner turf going five-eighths second-time out and could round out the tri in this six-furlong main turf tilt.

ROI SOLEIL was a belated fourth when exiting another layoff three weeks ago. He's getting the chance to string two races together in this first-level allowance/optional claimer and could mow down all the speed if he fires one of his better shots. CAUGHT SPEEDING edged out the top pick for third after saving ground in the aforementioned event in his improved second start off the sidelines. LAZIO and his speedy stablemate ENDRICK are two more possibilities. The latter rode an inside bias in back-to-back fast scores vs. $7.5K starter rivals in his last two outings.

The son of 13% turf route sire Astern is a half-brother to restricted turf stakes winner Taquanyah. WILLIAM T is also experimenting on a new surface. He filled out the exacta in each of his last four starts sprinting on the Tapeta at this level. By the low 8% turf route sire Frosted, his unraced dam produced a maiden claiming grass winner going long at Colonial.

FLYONBYE was gelded after landing on the edges in an Aug. 2 maiden special and is dropping to the level at which he ran second two back behind a future restricted stakes winner. ANDTHEOSCARGOESTO showed some early foot with his paddling action before flattening out late in both of his outings. His trainer hit with 9% of her maiden third-time starters during the past five years ($1.64 ROI). UP N THE ANTE ran against the grain of an inside/speed bias when fourth in his latest. FIN DEL MUNDO could improve off the claim.
